Parish Church of Regilde

In this church, we carried out the intervention on all the artistic filling. The main altarpiece that we present here is an example of the massive interventions that a lot of heritage underwent when conservation and restoration was still taking its first steps, on a path of many changes. The entire surface was covered by different layers of repainting, which disrespected the original polychromy and gilding and altered its aesthetic and historical leading. Once again, our work involved the complete removal of repaintings and the preservation of original coatings. 

As for the ceiling of the presbytery, in stucco over lathes, its decorative painting was preserved, having undergone a thorough treatment, which included the structure and the cladding, which were badly damaged. Watch here the trailer of the documentary that we directed about the work.
